Police charge 20-year-old man with murder in death of infant in 2019

SARNIA, Ont. — Provincial police in southwestern Ontario say they've charged a 20-year-old man with second-degree murder in relation to the death of an infant last year.

Police say the incident happened in August 2019, when officers responded to a call for a two-month-old child in medical distress in Sarnia.

Investigators say the infant, identified as Liam Watson, died in hospital days later.

OPP say 20-year-old Nathan Watson was arrested Thursday after a year-long investigation.

He's set to appear in court on Friday.

Police are still asking anyone with information about the incident to reach out.
