Police investigating death of three men in Mississauga as potential homicide

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Authorities say the deaths of three men whose bodies were found in a Mississauga, Ont., condo unit are being investigated as potential homicides.

Peel Regional Police say the men were found dead after an emergency call was placed from a building near the city centre on Wednesday afternoon.

Another man, who placed the call to police, was also discovered alive and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

All of the deceased individuals were in their 20s.

Police believe that unnamed illicit substances found at the scene may have been laced with a harmful additive.

The cause of death for the three men has not yet been determined, and police are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have.

Const. Akhil Mooken stressed that while the force's homicide squad is investigating, that is no guarantee that a murder was committed.

"They’ve taken carriage of it because their job is to investigate suspicious deaths, but it has not been classified as a homicide,” Mooken said in an interview.
