Alcohol a factor in fatal Dominion Drive collision: Police

UPDATE - Dec. 21, 9:23 a.m. A single-vehicle collision that closed Dominion Drive shortly before noon on Saturday, Dec. 19, has left a 24-year-old passenger dead. The road was closed for about seven hours.

UPDATE - Dec. 21, 9:23 a.m.

A single-vehicle collision that closed Dominion Drive shortly before noon on Saturday, Dec. 19, has left a 24-year-old passenger dead.

The road was closed for about seven hours.

The man was a passenger in a vehicle driven by another 24-year-old man, who has been charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, and having over the legal amount of blood alcohol causing death, stated a release from Greater Sudbury Police.

The name of the deceased has been withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

The accused is scheduled to appear in bail court Dec. 21.
