A lengthy investigation by five different police and protection agencies has led to the arrest of a 62-year-old Sudbury man. Police charged the man with internet luring, indecent acts, possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.
The Greater Sudbury Police were made aware of the allegations against the accused, who was identified as a suspect committing indecent acts on the Internet.
The Sudbury man was accused of exposing his genitalia to what he believed was an 11-year-old youth via the Internet and a webcam.
The Sudbury police's Cyber Crime Unit(CCU) investigated the allegation, with the assistance of the OPP's Child Sexual Exploitation Section, the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre in Ottawa, and the Metropolitan Police Service in the United Kingdom.
A search warrant was executed at the man's residence on Oct. 14, during which several computers and data storage devices were seized. During the search of the man's residence, child pornography was found.
The man was arrested and is scheduled to attend bail court on Oct. 15.
