Officers of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit received information regarding a male accessing and possessing child pornography in the area.
After a lengthy investigation, officers located the suspect and arrested 31-year-old Matthew Ribout of the City of Greater Sudbury.
As a result of further information received, Criminal Code Search Warrants were executed at a Sudbury area residence and further evidence was seized.
Ribout has been charged with possession of child pornography ad access child pornography. He was scheduled to attend bail court Friday.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service Cyber Crime Unit is part of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet which has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Ministry of the Attorney General.
