Arrest made in break-ins

A 22-year-old Sudbury man has been charged with three counts of break, enter and theft with intent and four counts of breach of probation following an Greater Sudbury Police investigation into an early August theft in Chelmsford.

Between Aug. 4 and 5, there was a break and enter at 25 Main St. West in Chelmford. Entry was gained by smashing a window and prying open bars covering a window.

Four businesses were broken into. A cash box containing $115 was stolen and the Chelmsford Food Bank was broken into and $595 worth of canned goods was removed. Youth Employment Services was entered and a telephone, computer system and printer valued at $3,200 were stolen.

The Club 50 storage area was entered, but nothing was taken.

The man charged turned himself in. Physical evidence recovered from the scene linked him to the crime.
