Arrest warrant issued for murder suspect

UPDATE – Corey Sanders was located by Greater Sudbury Police and arrested for first degree murder June 25. The public is thanked for their assistance.

Greater Sudbury Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 21-year-old Corey Sanders of Sudbury for first-degree murder in relation to the death 55-year-old man on Cabot Street earlier this week.

The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. June 22 and 12:30 a.m. June 23. Police say their investigation indicates this was not a random act of violence.

The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Christopher Badour of Sudbury. The cause of death has not yet been established.
Sanders is described as Caucasian, 5-10, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is considered dangerous, police say. They advise anyone who knows his location or observes him not to approach him, but call police immediately.


21-year-old Shayne Eckhoff of Timmins was arrested June 24, and has been charged with first degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in bail court June 25.
