Bicycle patrol catches group using controlled substance

Three teenage girls and a man were arrested for possession of a controlled substance June 11 at around 7:30 p.m. after Greater Sudbury Police bicycle patrol officers caught them using a controlled substance in the area of Beech Street.

Three teenage girls and a man were arrested for possession of a controlled substance June 11 at around 7:30 p.m. after Greater Sudbury Police bicycle patrol officers caught them using a controlled substance in the area of Beech Street.

Two of the girls and the man were immediately arrested, but the third girl fled on foot. She was caught and arrested a short distance away.

The man was found to be breaching one of his bail conditions and two of the girls were breaching their probation. They were all charged with breaching conditions.

The third girl was also awaiting disposition on a separate charge of theft.

All of the suspects were due to appear in bail court June 12.
