A 31-year-old woman is facing multiple fraud-related charges after she allegedly used her position as the bookkeeper at a Sudbury collision repair company to steal $8,000.

The woman was employed at the business between September and December 2008.

"During the course of her employment, she forged three cheques, took money from clients that paid for services, and increased her pay without the authorization of the company owner," stated a release from Greater Sudbury Police.

The woman has been charged with fraud, forgery, uttering forged documents, fraudulent concealment and falsification of books and documents.

She has been released from custody pending a court date June 3.
