Collège Boréal’s main campus will be the site for annual OPP officer in-service training sessions.

The agreement, signed Feb. 12 by the college and the OPP, includes the use of the gym, two classrooms, the Police Foundations Lab, and other facilities. This training will end in April.

"Not only does this partnership provide us with the necessary training space and the opportunity to interact with the Police Foundations students, it allows the students, who aspire to become police officers, to experience real-life police training," said OPP Superintendent Scott Tod in a news release.

Collège Boréal president Denis Hubert said the simulated police operations will allow professors and students to increase their knoweledge of the latest developments in police training.

Boréal has a two-year police foundations program that is a first step toward a career in police services in Ontario.
