Boy charged after allegedly stealing items from cars

A 17-year-old boy is facing multiple charges after he allegedly went through vehicles on Burton Street at around 1 a.m. June 18 and stole items.

A 17-year-old boy is facing multiple charges after he allegedly went through vehicles on Burton Street at around 1 a.m. June 18 and stole items.

The boy was found on Kathleen Street, and a number of items were recovered, including a silver CCM bicycle taken from a yard on Brebeuf Street, ownership and insurance slip from a vehicle on Brebeuf Street and two medical puffers taken from a vehicle on Cabot Street.

The owners of these items were identified. Several other items were also recovered, but the owners have not yet been found. Any citizens from that area who were the victims of theft from their vehicles are asked to contact police at 675-9171.

The boy was charged with three counts of possession of stolen property and four counts of breach of probation.

Greater Sudbury Police encourages residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock the doors.
