Two taxi cab drivers are facing charges of careless driving after an off-duty Greater Sudbury Police officer caught them speeding and weaving in and out of traffic on Notre Dame Avenue Oct. 10 at around 8:45 a.m.

Other drivers were having to brake heavily to avoid collisions with the cabs.

The off-duty officer managed to signal the drivers to pull over when they had stopped for a red light.

An on-duty officer was called to the scene, and issued both of the drivers careless driving tickets.

The two men, aged 63 and 37, each face fines of $325. They also had six demerit points taken from their driver's licenses.
