Capreol citizens invited to community policing forum Tuesday

The Greater Sudbury Police Services Board and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are in the process of developing their 2008-2010 business plan.

A major component of this process relies on identifying the policing priorities of the community we serve, and as such, are holding a series of community consultations to discuss policing and crime issues.

Members of the public are invited to attend a Community Safety Forum in Capreol for all residents of Ward 7. The forum will provide a great opportunity to voice safety concerns in regards to policing issues in their area.

The event begins at 7 pm in the Capreol Arena community hall.

“We welcome the opportunity to dialogue with the citizens that we serve," said Police Chief Ian Davidson, in a news relese.

Davidson, representatives of the Greater Sudbury Police Services Board and other members of senior staff, will be present and provide information relating to many successes, including the development of the service's new Rural Community-Based Policing Model.

Ward 7 councillor Russ Thompson will also be present at the forum.
