As friends and family gathered to watch the Canada versus USA hockey game at a Cote Boulevard home in Valley East on Feb. 21, another Valley East man was allegedly rifling through their vehicles.

Around 10:30 p.m., one of the guests left the home to warm up his vehicle for the drive home, he noticed someone leaving the driveway. The guest then noticed one of the vehicles' interior lights were on, and found out someone had gone through the vheicle.

He, as well as others from inside the home, chased down the man he saw leaving the driveway, and caught him with a cell phone from the vehicle in question.

They contacted the Greater Sudbury Police, who took the man into custody.

The 23-year-old is scheduled to be in court on Feb. 22 for a bail hearing, and to answer to charges of theft, trespass by night, and breach of probation.
