Citizens on Patrol program recruiting volunteers

A new program aimed at recruiting community volunteers to be the eyes and ears of the Greater Sudbury Police Service could make a difference in the level of crime in the communities of Copper Cliff and Walden, said a news release.

The Citizens on Patrol (COPS) Program  will be recruiting potential, key volunteers as an important first step in the process.

Ward 2 Councillor Jacques Barbeau and Constable Hally Wilmott will hold a 'COPS Information Meeting', on June 28th, at 7pm in Walden, for residents of Copper Cliff & Walden who want to learn more about the screening and training process and the roles and responsibilities of COPS volunteers.

At least 15-20 people from Copper Cliff and Walden are needed to register to attend the meeting.
