Crash victim in fair condition

Cambrian College’s Medical Laboratory Technology program has received national accreditation from the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).

Brianna Branch, a teenager who was left with serious injuries after a fatal two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 17 in Markstay June 10, is now listed in fair condition at Sudbury Regional Hospital.

Branch was one of eight people involved in the collision that took the life of Bruce Savard, 19, of Wahnapitae, and Jodie Tremblay, 18, of Garson. Previously in critical condition, Branch is now conscious and the prognosis is favorable, according to a hospital spokesperson.Branch attends St. Charles College.

Earlier this month, students at the school held a prayer vigil for her recovery.

Ontario Provincial Police are being tight-lipped about the case, saying the investigation is on-going and no charges have been laid to date.

The driver of the second vehicle, Christie King, 25, was airlifted to hospital in Ottawa. Police have not released the names of the other passengers.
