The Greater Sudbury Police Service’s Crime Prevention Academy will continue with its third session Monday evening, 6-8 pm in council chambers at Tom Davies Square.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service’s Crime Prevention Academy will continue with its third session Monday evening, 6-8 pm in council chambers at Tom Davies Square.

In this session, topics dealt with will include personal safety, safety at work and travelling alone.

The Crime Prevention Academy course is free and open to all citizens from all walks of life. Graduates of the academy will find the course valuable in assisting them in developing safe and secure habits and lifestyles. Graduates will also be able to share their knowledge with family, friends and colleagues, or use their knowledge to organize workshops and awareness sessions in their neighbourhoods.

The Academy is tied to the Community Watch program, which is a web program designed to keep the citizens in touch with what is going on in their neighbourhood.

The program will be similar to Neighbourhood Watch but with a 21st century operating method via voice digital messaging and on-line web alerts.
