A crossing guard working at the corner of Algonquin Road and Countryside Drive was struck by a small passenger vehicle Nov. 10 at around 9 a.m..

A 37-year-old female driver has been charged with disobeying a school crossing sign and faces a $175 fine, according to police.

The crossing guard sustained minor injury to his head, but otherwise was unharmed.
