After a local dog was shot with a pellet gun Saturday, Greater Sudbury Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

On June 3, Eddy, a husky/retriever mix. escaped his family's backyard on Desloges Road, where he had been tied up.

His family went looking for him, and the dog was only missing for about 10 minutes before returning home.

Eddy's owner checked him over, and noticed blood in his fur near his back leg. After trimming the hair and getting a better look, it appeared he had been shot with a pellet gun.

The dog was taken to the veterinarian, who confirmed the wound was caused by a pellet gun, and the pellet was still beneath the skin. Eddy was treated and is now at home with his family.
