Greater Sudbury Police are looking for the driver of an older beige or grey vehicle which allegedly caused a chain reaction collision on the Kingsway, and then fled the scene Jan. 9 at around 2 p.m.

The vehicle turned westbound from the south side of Kitchener Street onto the Kingsway, striking the rear driver's side portion of a 2010 Mazda MX3, which was proceeding westbound on the Kingsway.

The collision caused the Mazda to spin into eastbound traffic. The front passenger side of the Mazda was then struck by a minivan travelling eastbound in the inside lane

The momentum of the collision then carried the two vehicles into the outside lane, striking another car.

Some minor injuries were reported, and paramedics gave treatment at the scene. Further medical treatment was not required. Damage to the vehicles involved in the collision was extensive.

Besides being beige or grey in colour, the vehicle which allegedly caused the accident and left the scene is also described as being very dirty, and not running well. It should have damage to its front end.

The vehicle is reported to have had three occupants, including a male driver. One of the passengers was wearing a yellow coat and a red hat.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Greater Sudbury Police at 675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 675-TIPS.
