A 42-year-old Sudbury man was arrested after he was pulled over on Howey Drive, around 9 p.m. Oct. 12.
The man was driving with no headlights on. Upon stopping the driver, Greater Sudbury police discovered he was driving on a suspended license and without insurance.
When the officer tried to arrest the man, he struck back at police and had to by physically subdued. The driver then refused to provide a breathalyzer test.
He has been charged with driving under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, resisting arrest, and failure to provide a roadside breath sample.
In addition to this, further investigation revealed that there was an outstanding warrant for theft over $5,000.
The driver is being held pending his bail hearing.
