Driver charged after two collisions on Paris Street

Greater Sudbury Police arrested a driver early on Dec. 26 after the 48 year old male knocked down two city light standards on Paris Street.

A 48-year-old man is facing charges after leaving the scene of two minor accidents during the early morning of Saturday, Dec. 26.

According to Greater Sudbury police, the man drove his vehicle into a light standard at the intersection of York and Paris Streets. He then continued down Paris Street, and knocked down another light standard at the intersection of Paris Street and Walford Road.

After the last collision, the driver left his vehicle and fled on foot, stated the police in a release. He suffered minor injuries in the two collisions.

Police apprehended the accused, and he is now facing two counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and one count of dangerous driving.
