Driver fined for not stopping for school bus

Thanks to a witness who saw a fellow driver pass two school buses that were stopped to let kids disembark, Greater Sudbury Police were able to catch up to suspect.

Thanks to a witness who saw a fellow driver pass two school buses that were stopped to let kids disembark, Greater Sudbury Police were able to catch up to suspect.

After seeing a driver pass one school bus, the witness followed the suspect to the next intersection where she jotted down the suspect's licence plate number. The same witness then saw the suspect pass another bus on Anthony St.

Police caught up with the driver, who has been charged with two counts of of failing to stop for a school bus. The charges will result in a $980 fine.

Since the start of the school year, police have charged six people with failing to stop for a school bus.
