Drug deal interrupted by citizen

On Saturday, officers were dispatched to the Tim Horton’s on Cedar Street, after a concerned citizen interrupted a drug transaction. On arrival, officers located the suspect in the incident who was a 25-year-old Sudbury resident.

On Saturday, officers were dispatched to the Tim Horton’s on Cedar Street, after a concerned citizen interrupted a drug transaction.

On arrival, officers located the suspect in the incident who was a 25-year-old Sudbury resident.

On investigation police found him to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and a large knife concealed under his clothing, a police release stated.

The male has been charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of proceeds of crime, the release stated.

He remains in custody, awaiting a bail hearing.
