When Royal Canadian Mounted Police raided the residence of Barrington Pitters in early December 2002, they found more than two pounds of stashed hash oil.

Pitters, 48, pleaded guilty Wednesday to narcotics trafficking charges after police found hash oil inside a margarine container in the home, and in a container under the bumper of a truck in the driveway.

They also found 61 grams of marijuana.

?Given the amount of drugs, this was clearly for the purpose of trafficking,? said federal Crown prosecutor Robert Topp.

He said he will ask for a jail sentence against Pitters when he?s sentenced. Defence counsel Craig Fleming asked that a pre-sentence report be prepared.

The date for the sentencing hearing will be set next Wednesday. It takes between six to eights week for a pre-sentence report to be prepared, so Pitters will likely be sentenced in late June or some time in July.

The street value of the drugs seized was in the thousands of dollars, although no official estimate was presented in court.

Pitters was released on his own recognizance until he appears in court for the sentencing hearing.
