Drunk driver pulled off road after citizen phones police

A phone call to Greater Sudbury Police by a member of the public led to a drunk driver being pulled off the road May 1 at around 2:30 a.m.

The police found the driver described in the phone call in the Cambrian Heights Drive area. They noticed the man was driving in a suspicious fashion.

Police pulled the vehicle over, and conducted roadside tests. The driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 100 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The suspect was released from custody and is due to make a court appearance in June.
