Eight people arrested for thefts in Valley East

The street crime unit of the Greater Sudbury Police Service recently conducted an investigation involving property crimes in the Valley East area., said a news release.

The street crime unit of the Greater Sudbury Police Service recently conducted an investigation involving property crimes in the Valley East area., said a news release.

During the investigation, six criminal code search warrants were executed which resulted in the seizure of stolen property valued over $20,000. Seized during the search warrants were a minivan, snowmobile, two ATV’s, a personal water craft, and a utility trailer. Also recovered during the search was an outboard motor, a barbecue, televisions and power tools that were all stolen during local break and enters. 

To date, eight people have been arrested and charged. They face a total 12 charges including possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. The names of the accused are not being released at this time as additional charges are pending against five additional suspects.  All of the accused presently reside within the City of Greater Sudbury.
