Elderly woman backs car into swimming pool

An elderly woman is facing charges of impaired driving and blowing over .08 mg of alcohol after she reversed a car out of a driveway on Martilla Drive, went through a six-foot retaining wall, and struck an above-ground swimming pool.

An elderly woman is facing charges of impaired driving and blowing over .08 mg of alcohol after she reversed a car out of a driveway on Martilla Drive, went through a six-foot retaining wall, and struck an above-ground swimming pool.

Nobody was injured in the incident, but the pool was damaged enough that it spilled all of its contents. Damages to the pool, fence and vehicle are estimated at approximately $10,000.

The woman was released pending a court appearance.
