A woman has been charged with failing to drive in the marked lane after the mini-van she was driving ended up in the ditch along Hwy. 69 just south of Alban Dec. 22 around 8:15 am.

A male passenger had to be air-lifted to hospital in Sudbury. The woman and her 11-year-old daughter were taken by land to the same Sudbury hospital. Both adults had to be removed from the vehicle by the French River Fire Dept.

The daughter is suffering form minor injuries while her parents sustained non life-threatening neck and back injuries. The family is from London Ontario.

The highway was closed for about 20 minutes while the air-ambulance landed. The scene was cleaned up by about 10:20 am.

The Ontario Provincial Police are reminding motorists to pull-over when you feel tired behind the wheel. Fatigue reduces your ability to drive effectively and to think quickly. Your reaction time is slower, awareness is decreased, and judgement is impaired.  Often the actions of fatigued drivers are confused with drivers who had been drinking.
