Greater Sudbury Police are asking parents to check their children's Halloween treats after receiving a complaint involving candy that was tampered with.

A man was accompanying his six year old daughter trick or treating in the Shelley Heights/Lillian area and went to about 40 houses between 6 and 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Upon returning home, he went through the treats and discovered a small square piece of glass which was inside the opaque wrapping of a Tootsie lollipop. The lollipop was inside an orange Halloween treat bag tied with a red ribbon.

Anyone finding treats that have been tampered with are encouraged to contact police.
