Two people have been charged with numerous drug-related offences after police searched their home.

On Oct. 27, around 4 p.m., Greater Sudbury Police officers located a 24-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, who were wanted on prior drug charges. Both are from Sudbury but were located in Hanmer. They are being charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The man is also being charged with two counts of breaching his probation.

The charges stem from a search warrant carried out by the Greater Sudbury Joint Forces Drug Enforcement Unit on the former home of the two charged, on Oct. 10, while the individuals were not at home. At that time, police located about 177 grams of cocaine inside the residence, with an estimated street value of $1,700.

On Oct. 28 around 4 p.m., police stopped a vehicle at the corner of Van Horne Street and Howey Drive. Although the stop was routine, the officers spotted a small amount of cocaine, which lead to the arrest of a 26-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman.

A search of the vehicle revealed approximately two grams of cocaine and two grams of marihuana with an estimated street value of $240. All three individuals are being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and were released from police custody.
