Please be advised if you are travelling out of town this afternoon, that Hwy 17 west of Mattawa is closed due to flooding and wash out.
North Bay OPP report that signage has been posted on Hwy 17/630 at Bonfield and Hwy 17 at Chalk River.
According to a press release, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) are on site and repairs are underway, although there is no estimate as to when the section of road will reopen.
OPP would like to remind motorists that road advisory updates and questions regarding road conditions should be directed to the MTO, through their website, Twitter or by calling *511.
