Four Sudburians were killed in a plane crash in Algonquin Park Saturday, according to media reports.

The Toronto Star reports that Kevin Houle, 51, his wife, Lorraine, 50, and their 17-year-old daughter, Emily, were killed Saturday as they headed home for Thanksgiving dinner. The fourth victim was Emily's boyfriend, Michael Rollins, also 17.

Kevin Houle was a licensed pilot and the four-seat, single-engine plane was registered to his family's mining business, Tracks and Wheels.
The group was returning to Sudbury after visiting two of the Houles' other daughters in Kingston.

The small plane, a Piper PA-28, was supposed to land in Sudbury at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

When the plane failed to arrive, Michael's worried relatives called police.

The plane was located at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday near Devine Lake in western Algonquin Park, roughly halfway through its journey.

The plane hit a tree, broke a wing and ejected three of its occupants, OPP Const. Carolle Dionne said. It was found in several pieces.

The heavily forested area and rough terrain complicated recovery efforts Sunday.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
