UPDATE - Two Greater Sudbury Utilities workers were taken to St. Joseph's Health Centre during the afternoon of July 28 after they came in contact with a live cable.

The workers were conducting service line changes at the time of the accident. One worker was sent to the hospital for observation and released without treatment, according to the utility. An earlier report from Greater Sudbury Police had stated the worker had received minor injuries.

The other worker received substantial burns to a large portion of his body. The severely injured worker is expected to be transported to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto for continued medical attention and observation.

The Ministry of Labour is conducting an investigation.

"We wanted to correct media reports that two workers remained in hospital as a result of this incident," said Frank Kallonen, president and CEO of Greater Sudbury Utilities, in a release."Other than that minor correction it would be imprudent of us to comment pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation."
