Head-on collision injures three

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on Main Street in Val Caron on Sunday around 9 p.m., after one of the vehicles veered into the oncoming lane.

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on Main Street in Val Caron on Sunday around 9 p.m., after one of the vehicles veered into the oncoming lane.

Both drivers had their seatbelts fastened and sustained only minor injuries, while the passenger in the vehicle travelling in the proper lane, who was not wearing his seatbelt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the St. Joseph’s Health Centre and released. 

All persons involved in the accident are adults and from the Greater Sudbury area. 
 
The driver of the vehicle that veered into the oncoming lane is in his fifties, and has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and driving with more the 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.  
  
The Greater Sudbury Police Service is reminding people occupying motor vehicles to properly fasten their seatbelts while the vehicle is in motion.
