A homeowner in Azilda awoke to noises coming from his yard on Dec. 18 at 5:20 am.
When he realized that someone was attempting to steal his snowmobile, he went out to confront the suspect.
There was a brief encounter with the suspect but he broke free - the complainant did not pursue any further as he was outside in his bare feet.
Officers attended the scene and with information provided to them, and evidence found at the residence, they arrested Jason Depatie, 31. He is charged with attempted theft, breach of probation and trespassing.
