One of the pumps at the Shell Station on Regent Street fell victim to icy conditions early this morning.
A driver hit ice at the station, and ran into one of the pumps, causing a minimum of $5,000 in damage, according to Kaitlyn Dunn, a spokesperson for Greater Sudbury Police.
The driver remained at the scene. No alcohol or drugs were involved, she said.
When contacted by Sudbury.com early this morning, the gas station's owner, Ahmad Nayyar, said they'd shut down all the pumps temporarily as a precautionary measure.
He said he hoped to have the undamaged pumps up and running this morning.
This wasn't the only incident on Regent Street this morning. A collision between a pick-up truck and a transport truck just down the street, near the Cardinal Inn, resulted in minor injuries.
