Impaired driver facing multiple charges

A 30-year-old Sudbury man is facing multiple charges after Greater Sudbury Police observed him driving erratically on Falconbridge Road June 12 at around 2:30 a.m.

A 30-year-old Sudbury man is facing multiple charges after Greater Sudbury Police observed him driving erratically on Falconbridge Road June 12 at around 2:30 a.m.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Old Falconbridge Road, and detected signs of impairment. Police found him to be in possession of marijuana and a magazine from a firearm that was partially loaded.

A search of the vehicle then revealed a .38 calibre pistol that had been stolen from Timmins earlier this year, more marijuana and indicia of trafficking.

He has been charged with impaired driving, operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and various firearm related offenses, including unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

He was due to appear in bail court June 12.
