Impaired drivers rear-end other vehicles

Greater Sudbury Police responded to two motor vehicle collisions Aug. 28 and 29 which involved impaired drivers. On Aug. 28, a vehicle on Notre Dame Avenue collided with the rear of a stopped car. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

On Aug. 28, a vehicle on Notre Dame Avenue collided with the rear of a stopped car. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

After conducting a breathalyzer examination, the 39-year-old man who was driving the vehicle which struck the stopped car was found to be two and a half times over the legal limit of alcohol allowed when driving.

He was charged with operating a vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol in his blood.

On Aug. 29, a 47-year-old man rear-ended another vehicle on Elm Street. He was arrested for impaired driving and blowing over after registering readings three times over the legal limit of alcohol allowed when driving.

Both drivers have been scheduled for court appearances to answer to the charges.
