Intoxicated man breaks into porch to hide from police

A 35-year-old Sudbury man is facing multiple charges after breaking into a porch June 16 to hide from Greater Sudbury Police. At around 5 p.m.

A 35-year-old Sudbury man is facing multiple charges after breaking into a porch June 16 to hide from Greater Sudbury Police.

At around 5 p.m., a local detox centre phoned police because an intoxicated man was disruptive and would not leave upon request.

The man left the detox centre before police could get there, and broke into a porch in a nearby home to escape police. He damaged the home in the process.

When found by police, he was searched, and found to be in possession of prescription medication.

He was charged with mischief, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was due to appear in bail court June 17.
