Residents on Woodland Avenue called in police after a neighbour's party on Feb. 14 became too loud to handle.

Greater Sudbury Police responded to the residence around 9 p.m. on Sunday and asked the house's occupants, including a 22-year-old resident, to keep the noise down, explained a news release from the police.

The police left, but were forced to return at 12:45 a.m., Feb. 14, after another complaint about noise.

The 22-year-old was spoken to again, but refused to co-operate with police. He and the other party-goers kept the house door closed and locked, ignoring the police when they knocked on the door.

Several vehicles in the area were also blocking the road, which prompted the police to have the vehicles towed for public safety reasons.

The 22-year-old man exited his house when he saw the vehicles being towed and confronted officers. He was arrested, and is facing a charge of mischief and obstructing a police officer.

The party was broken up by police after the man was arrested.
