Man, 60, facing sexual assault, voyeurism, child pornography charges

Three victims already identified, but GSPS suspects there could be others

Greater Sudbury Police have arrested a 60-year-old Greater Sudury man who is facing a string of sexual offences, including possessing child pornography, making child pornography, sexual assault, voyeurism and more. 

The man is believed to have committed “numerous historical sexual violence-related offences against individuals under the age of 18,” reads a GSPS release. 

He has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada; 

  • Sexual Assault 
  • Publication of Intimate Images without Consent 
  • Two counts of voyeurism  
  • Possession of Child Pornography 
  • Makes, Prints, Publishes or Possesses for the Purpose of Publication any Child Pornography 
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm 
  • Breach of Firearms Regulation-Store firearm or restricted weapon

The 60-year-old was held in police custody overnight and attended bail court on April 10 to answer to the charges. A publication ban has been issued in relation to this investigation, therefore no further details can be provided.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.

Police said three people have already been identified as victims of the man’s alleged crimes, but there are concerns there may be others. Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact police at (705) 675-9171.
