Greater Sudbury Police Services responded to a weapons complaint July 30 at approximately 9:40 pm in the area of Elm and Regent Street.

The complaint reported a man at the location was in possession of a handgun and was handling it in a careless and dangerous fashion.

When the police arrived on the scene, the offender was arrested at gunpoint without incident. An examination of the weapon revealed the gun to be a black plastic replica.

Police say that it is next to impossible to identify a replica handgun unless closely examined and took every precaution, acting as if the weapon was real.
