Man brandishing knife robs gas station

UPDATE - Dec. 22, 1:34 p.m.

Investigation into the robbery at the Pioneer Gas Bar on Lasalle Boulevard has led Greater Sudbury police to issue an arrest warrant for Charles "Chuck" Plante.

Plante is wanted for the offences of Robbery, possession of dangerous weapons, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Plante is also wanted on a warrant for fraud under $5,000 in an unrelated incident.

The public is urged to not approach Plante, but instead contact Greater Sudbury Police or Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers should they have any information.

A scruffy-looking man wielding a knife robbed the Pioneer Gas Bar on Lasalle Boulevard on Dec. 21, around 5:15 p.m.

The man entered the gas bar and demanded money, which was handed over. He fled on foot, and no one was injured, according to a release from the Greater Sudbury police.

The amount taken was not released by the police.

The suspect is described as white, "scruffy," in his mid-20s. He has a thin build and was wearing a black hoodie with white lettering across the front.
