Man crashes into wall of local hotel

A man was taken to hospital Saturday after driving his pick-up truck into the wall of the International Hotel on Kathleen Street. The driver left the scene and was apprehended at another local establishment and taken to the St.

A man was taken to hospital Saturday after driving his pick-up truck into the wall of the International Hotel on Kathleen Street.

The driver left the scene and was apprehended at another local establishment and taken to the St. Joseph's Health Centre for treatment of injuries he received as a result of the accident.

As a result of the investigation,  the 34-year-old Sudbury man was charged with impaired driving, refusal to provide a breath sample, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Two glass doors at the hotel were damaged as a result of this incident with an approximate value of $1,000. Injuries to the driver were undetermined at the time of the press release.

Police also responded to an attempted crime at the Wal-Mart in the New Sudbury Shopping Centre after receiving a complaint of a fraud in progress from store security officers.

Two adult males were found and apprehended for changing the price tags on merchandise. The men have been released from custody with a pending court date for the offence of Fraud.
