When Greater Sudbury Police noticed a man driving in an irregular manner around 8:35 p.m. at Falconbridge Road and Edison Avenue, they pulled him over and discovered he was impaired.

Officers arrested the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. A search of the immediate area around the driver revealed 12 vials of what is believed to be hashish resin.  The driver was then also under arrest for possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.

He will be making a court appearance today (July 14).

"The Greater Sudbury Police would once again like to remind the motoring public not to drink and drive or operate a motor vehicle while impaired by any substance," a release from police states. "Organizationally, the Greater Sudbury Police Service has exhaustively sent out messages not to drink and drive, yet people fail to adhere to our warning."
