A 26-year-old Cape Breton man is facing charges after headbutting a security guard at the downtown LCBO on March 4, around 3 p.m.
The man was caught shoplifting and when security personnel stopped him, began to fight and eventually headbutted one of the guards, who was not harmed.
The Greater Sudbury Police arrived at the scene and arrested the accused, and a search found $380 in prescription medicine and $120 in Canadian currency.
The man was also intoxicated.
He is facing charges of theft under $5,000, assault, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation.
He is scheduled to answer to these charges in bail court March 5.
