A man walked into the Hanmer Shoppers Drug Mart on Dec. 23, his identity obscured. He then pulled out a handgun and robbed the place.

The robbery took place around 9:45 p.m., though Greater Sudbury Police have not released information as to what was stolen.

The suspect is described as about 30-years-old, 5-9 tall, and 180 pounds. He was clean-shaven at the time of the robbery, and was wearing glasses, a grey ski toque, an old green and black jacket, and black track pants.

Since August, the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) has been working with local pharmacies to develop a robbery prevention guide. Since then, officers from the GSPS have visited local pharmacies to make suggestions on how to reduce the chances of being robbed, recognizing suspicious activity, and how to react to a robbery.

Anyone with information about this or any other pharmacy robbery is asked to contact the GSPS at 675-9171, or Sudbury Rainbow Crimestoppers at 675-TIPS(8477).
