Man turns himself in after debit card fraud

A 21-year-old man has been charged with theft, fraud, uttering a forged document and unauthorized use of a credit card after he allegedly stole a blank cheque and debit card from the home of a friend Feb. 16.

The man allegedly forged the stolen cheque in the amount of $200 and proceeded to use the stolen debit card to deposit the cheque and take out the $200.

He also used the debit card on five other occasions to withdraw money from the account. The suspect turned himself into police Feb. 23. He appeared in bail court Feb. 24.
