A Quebec man charged with the attempted murder of a 76-year-old Hanmer man has also been charged with first degree murder in connection with a shooting death Eldee, Ont.
On Sept. 4, officers from the North Bay OPP responded to a call at a residence in Eldee (a town near the Quebec border, northeast of North Bay) discovering a dead body on their arrival. The victim has since been identified as 68- year-old Jack Guest.
Aaron Raymond, 40, of Temiscaming, Que has been charged with first degree murder.
Raymond was in Sudbury court on Aug. 6 to answer to attempted murder charges. The man's court date has been moved to Sept. 14. He is still in custody in Sudbury.
